Gale's Books & Authors offers a wide range of titles from numerous genres searchable and sortable by age groups, topics, fiction or nonfiction, and several other limiters. Some specific features that make Gale Books & Authors useful are listed below.
The Book Lists feature allows you to see hundreds of various lists around a central theme, including specific awards such as the Caldecott, Newberry Medal, Hugo, Booker, and many others.
Advanced Search allows for searching for a book without knowing title or author. You are able to limit your search using keywords, audience type, location and time period the book takes place, character type and character name.
Author Search is a great way to search for a specific author and see their entire bibliography. If you don't know the author's name, this search feature will allow you to search by other attributes such as gender, nationality, ethnicity, occupation, and place of birth.
The last thing we will want to know heading into Books & Authors is that reviews, when available, are provided for each title. It will also tell you what awards it won, what formats the book is available to purchase in, and it will give you "read-a-likes" or other books that are very similar in content and style.
